A Caring Profession

no more words
I quit
no longer saying
the right thing
the stranger who says
excuse me fix
my child
that’s it.
you do it you
solve their
problems.
file it all
lock it
up to be
checked out
by someone else’s
savior
because I’m
done with
being your
solve-the-trick
einstein florence
nightengale mother
theresa
failbot.

wandering  it’s
like I’m drifting in
to the blue sea
waves licking my
lips and tickling the
small hairs over
my mouth
gurgling cold
into my ears
lapping my shoulders
and pulling me
back out
far far
away from
the shore

Love,

Muse

Outing

it’s soft
the sweater you
hold against my
back your
way of finding me
in space a
seeking hand
to pat my
hip kiss
the top of
my head
and make sure that
I’m still yours

Love,

Muse

Chocolate Dixie

they were decorating in
the dark by
the church an
Easter surprise for
children to come
upon and be
fooled into spring
with eggs
tucked near their
wire stems
yellow cups
plates red and
blue snipped
and glued
into a sturdy garden
Bouquets of cheer
beckoning us to come on in
to say Hello
to Jesus.

Love,

Muse
